This is the item of package 1b of the metro line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) contractor contractor Shimizu - Meada (Japan). Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien will be the first metro line in Vietnam to excavate tunnels underground TBM machine with a tunnel diameter up to 6.79 m.
The modern TBM submersible robot from Japan has a total length of 70 m, weighs 300 tons, is being assembled by the unit to excavate the underground from Ba Son station to the Opera House.
From February, the HCM City Railway Administration has deployed the TBM (TBM) underground tunneling equipment to construct the subway underground from Ba Son station to the Opera House.
Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line project (Ho Chi Minh City, total capital of 2.49 billion USD) is nearly 20 km long passing through districts 1, 2, 9, Binh Thanh, Thu Duc and Di An town (Binh Duong province). In particular, the project has about 2.6 km underground (3 stations) and more than 17 km above (11 stations).
Construction started in August 2012. The HCMC Urban Railways Management commits to complete all 5 packages of Metro 1 Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien on schedule, put into operation and exploited by the end of 2020.
